Smriti

Effective 17 July 2026

Privacy policy

Smriti is designed to work without an account. In Fully Local mode, your private content stays on your device.

Plain-language summary: Smriti does not sell personal data and contains no advertising or in-app analytics SDKs. Release 1.0 does not provide cloud processing or sync.

Who provides Smriti

Smriti is provided by PRINTPANDA INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED. Privacy questions can be sent to support@magicdecor.com.

Information and device access

Microphone access is used only after you visibly start a recording. File access is used only for audio you choose through the operating-system picker. Face ID, fingerprint or device authentication can be used to unlock the app; Smriti receives only a success or failure result and never receives your biometric data.

Local storage and security

Recordings, imported audio, transcripts, notes, journal entries, commitments, settings and the Meaning Search vector index are stored in an encrypted local database and app-private files. The encryption key is stored in the device secure key store when available.

Smriti disables Android app backup and excludes its private library, downloaded models and protected recovery copies from iPhone and iPad device backups. Fully Local content is therefore not copied into an operating-system cloud backup. Your selected retention period removes older original audio while preserving notes and transcripts.

Internet, models and sharing

Smriti accesses the internet only when you explicitly confirm installation of a private intelligence pack or the separate Meaning Search model. Public model files are delivered by Hugging Face over HTTPS. Like other internet services, that provider receives and may retain ordinary network metadata such as IP-derived approximate location, the requested model and a generic Smriti model-installer identifier under its own privacy policy. Smriti sends no account information, recording, transcript, memory, journal entry, search query, vector or planner content. Meaning Search and all inference run locally.

You can review Hugging Face’s privacy policy and privacy-request instructions at huggingface.co/privacy before choosing a model download.

Downloaded models are stored in app-private storage and verified by exact byte count and SHA-256 before use. Model sources and licences are available inside the app under You → Models & open-source notices.

When you choose Export, the operating-system sharing sheet controls the destination. The destination’s privacy policy then applies.

Recording and consent

Smriti displays a clear recording interface. You are responsible for informing participants and complying with applicable recording and privacy laws. Consent presets are reminders, not legal advice. Smriti does not directly record cellular calls.

Your choices and deletion

You can delete individual memories, remove expired audio, turn biometric lock on or off, and delete the app to remove all locally stored Smriti data. Because there is no account or server copy in release 1.0, deleted local data cannot be recovered by PRINTPANDA INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED.

Children

Smriti is not directed to children under 13 and should not be used to record children without appropriate guardian consent and legal authority.
