Smriti support
Help with your private memory.
Smriti has no account and no server copy of your library. Most issues can be resolved safely on your device without sharing private content.
Before contacting support: Never email a private recording, transcript, database, model file, encryption key, password or device backup. Support will not ask for them.
Quick help
- Recording will not start
- Open the device settings for Smriti and allow microphone access. Confirm that another app is not using the microphone and that the device has available storage. Smriti records only after the visible consent and start actions.
- An imported file is not available
- Use Capture → Import and choose an audio file through the system picker. Smriti does not request broad storage access. If a cloud file is shown by the picker, download it to the device first.
- Transcription or analysis is unavailable
- Open You → Private intelligence and install the Essential pack over a reliable connection. Keep sufficient free space for the approximately 0.6 GB pack plus working space. Smriti verifies each model before enabling offline processing.
- Meaning Search is unavailable
- Install the separate Meaning Search model from You. Its search queries and encrypted vector index remain local. Exact-word search continues to work without this optional model.
- A reminder did not appear
- Confirm notification permission is enabled and the planner item has a date and reminders turned on. Smriti uses local device notifications and does not register for remote push delivery.
- I need to export or delete content
- Use the controls on the memory screen to export or delete an item. Export hands the file to the operating-system share sheet. Deleting the app removes the entire local library; there is no developer-held account copy to restore.
- I changed or lost my device
- Smriti’s private library is excluded from operating-system cloud backup. Release 1.0 has no cloud sync, so the developer cannot recover a lost or deleted library.
